Attire for CASUAL, outdoor, evening wedding?

A friend of mine is getting married Saturday. She’s really laid back and not prepared at all. She just bought decorations, plates (paper), napkins, cutlery, cups, etc. last week (and only at my insistence). She asked me to go with her today to buy food for the reception. She’s not having a caterer. She knows someone who’s willing to prepare it for her if she buys everything. Finger foods.

I don’t know what her dress looks like, but I know the kind of “theme” of the wedding. Everything is black and yellow with abstract floral prints on certain items. Her fiance will be wearing a black tux. Now, the wedding starts at 7pm. It’s outdoors. It’s supposed to rain all day… and everyday between now and then. Her backup plan is putting up a big white tent over everyone… but it’s going to be horribly humid. She told me they’re going away for an hour between the wedding and reception (same venue) so they can have sex… So, with pictures, we’re all going to be sitting around outside in the wetness for like 2 hours. Then, the reception is hors deuvres and homemade cupcakes on paper plates. She warned us that there are gnats (and probably mosquitos) everywhere and that they’re not having citronilla candles, so we need to put dryer sheets in our pockets… My point is, I don’t think it’s going to be very fancy and I’d rather not go out and buy a new dress to wear in the mud.

Brown Suede Shoes!! Nasty Affair!!?

Good evening, Lady Trumpington and myself attended an evening reception at the American Embassy in London. Can I live a lush/good life on $30,000 income a year?

I’m going to graduate from college soon with a BA. The jobs that I will pursue pay around $30,000 – 35,000 yearly. I’m not trying to live like I’m rich or famous, however I would like to buy new clothes and shoes every month, eat out weekly, movies, vacations — the leisure activities are my idea of lush or good living. Plus I want to live in a nice rental area but the rent of apartments I’ve seen tend to be $1300-2000 a month plus utilities. And I still need a car.

Am I hoping for too much on $30,000 a year? What do people do with at this income level — do they tend to live pay check to pay, are they able to spend on leisure? Maybe I should rethink my career path for something higher paying.

Any feedback will be helpful.

does anyone think christina aguilera is an icon?

even though she was part of the teen singers making it in the late 90′s she turned out to be a little girl with a big voice throughout the 2000′s. people were often comparing her to britney spears but even though britney is a better entertainer than christina. meanwhile, christina is a better singer vocally. christina in her debut album got 4 top 5 hits including 3 no.1 hits. her albums in the 2000′s would sell good. she even released a spanish album as well which was commercially successful in the latin community. by the end of the 2000′s, she was ranked the 20th best artist of the 2000′s. she’s sold over 50 million records.

she in the 2010‘s did go off to a slow start because she her album flopped and her debut film as an actress flopped as well. but she’s trying to comeback this year with her duet with marron 5 song moves like a jagger and is a judge on the new hit show the voice. so now she’s currently on the right track for a comeback most likely.

she already has in her career 9 top 10 hits and 3 number ones. do u guys think its good enough to become an icon? been in music for 13 years the same as britney spears.

Wood, Cummings join Spidey musical cast

Evan Rachel Wood and Alan C umming have joined the cast of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, the upcoming Broadway musical about the famous web-slinger.

Wood will portray Peter Parker’s girlfriend, Mary Jane Watson, while C umming takes on the role of Norman Osborn, also known as the villainous Green Goblin.

The musical, directed by Julie Taymor, begins preview performances Feb. 25, 2010, at the Hilton Theatre.

An opening date will be announced later – as well as, who will be the actor to portray Spider-Man.

Spider-Man will feature a score by Bono and The Edge of U2.

Taymor was the creative force behind The Lion King, Disney’s long-running musical, now in its second decade on Broadway. She will co-write the “Spider-Man” book with Glen Berger.

Taymor worked with Wood on the film Across the Universe and with C umming on The Tempest and Titus, both screen adaptations of Shakespeare plays.

“Evan is unique: she is a young actress with incredible depth for both serious and comic drama in films and theater, and on top of that, she has an extraordinary lyrical voice,” Taymor said. As for C umming, the director added: “He has such range and such charisma as a performer that I feel his Green Goblin will bring many surprises that will move and entertain us.”

The story for the musical was inspired by the Marvel comic books hero – who’s also inspired three hit movies – and will include the story of his origins as well as new material.

Other members of the show’s production team include set designer George Tsypin, who did the sets for The Little Mermaid on Broadway; costume designer Eiko Ishioka; lighting designer Donald Holder of “The Lion King” and sound designer Jonathan Deans who has worked for Cirque du Soleil.

What should I wear if my school is not very high fashion?

The accessory thing — belts over shirts, leggings with shorts, tights, sweaters — are not very in at my school. Usually the accessories I see people wearing are (mixed with guys and girls) phitens and silly bands. That’s it mainly.

We have a dess code.It’s basically the usual:
-No skirts or trousers (Yes I just said trousers and no I don’t usually call them that) above 4 inches of the knee
-No undergarmnts can show
-No sleeveless shirts

That’s all I can think of, so i don’t want, Wear some short shorts with a tank top and wear a belt over the tank top and for shoes wear some bright pink converse. I also don’t want: Be Yourself… Well, no offence to anyone who says that, but i’d rather not be made fun of.

Why do some girls dress in High Heels and go over the top dress to goto a theme park?

Went to alton towers recently and surely It is supposed to be a fun day out to go on rides and have a laugh and walk around for hours and yet I still saw groups of young girls wearing 5 inch heels all as they all come tottering in like it is some sort of fashion spectacle, only to see them all walking out at 6pm barefoot holding theyre shoes complaining their feet hurt lol

HI i am a male 5’7 and 140 i have high cheek bones a cleft chin dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. I bought a leather jacket. I am planning on wearing it to school tomorrow. I am going to wear a plain tshirt a tan plad button up shirt long sleeve and my black leather jacket with manufactured ripped jeans and brown leather like shoes. Help with Leather Jacket and High Waisted Skirt?

Okay, so im going to a Pcd conert soon. The cropped ‘leather‘ jacket trend is big here in Australia. I have bought a high waisted BLACK skirt that comes down to my knees to wear.
Would a Black/Brown/Tan leather cropped jacket go well with this? Because the skirt comes under my boobs, and the jacket would end a little below them. Would it look funny?

What should I wear with gray sweat pants tomorrow?

I think I’m going to start my period tomorrow, and I want to feel comfortable. I’m tired of wasting so much time on my looks, I want one day off lol.
