Are these shoes appropriate for work?

I intern at a Congressional office. I’m a high school senior, so I’m fairly younger than everyone there, but I still dress as formally everyone else. Usually, the "dress code" is something like dress pants, collared/dressy shirts, nice dresses/skirts, etc, but sometimes people dress down slighty, like the men may wear polos or sweaters instead of dress shirts and ties, or the women may wear not-so-fancy sundresses.

I don’t know if this is a stupid question, but I was wondering if my brown mocassins would be appropriate to wear, perhaps with maybe a pair of slacks or a brown skirt. I NEEEEED TO KNOW! I am a fashion researcher and while I was researching fall trends for women I never came across the possibility that these ugly brown clogs would be in style! They remind me of something a scary unfashionable enviornmentalist would wear! But now I’m seeing them more and more and my boss is upset that I didn’t predict the trend. Are these really in style?
