Opening up the debate again…brown shoes with a black dress?

I know traditionally, you never ever match brown and black. But lately, I’ve been seeing people do it, and sometimes pull it off decently. What do you think of this black dress + brown shoe combination (along with necklace/purse to match the shoes)? Is brown + black still a huge no-no, or is it ok now?
